Desplazados

This is an indigenous woman displaced from her culture, her land, and her family. It has become normal to see indigenous people like her in the streets of Medellín. Very young girls with children, desperately asking for money to satisfy basic needs such as eating. The black and white represent the desolation and sadness the girl is feeling, also reflected in her expression. The yellow, blue, and red (colors of the flag of my country) represent the richness of the country and the life of its culture which has been taken from them.
