Produced and Edited Cambuche: a film in which 14-year-old Gabriela Soto Ángel embarks on a journey to uncover a long-kept family secret: her grandfather was kidnapped by a guerrilla group in Colombia in 1996. Through intimate interviews, fragmented memories, and historical revelations, Gabriela pieces together her country’s violent past, confronting the pain that shaped her family, so that healing, rather than hate, is passed on to future generations. The film was selected by SCAD for Best Editor and Best Documentary Categories for the Student Emmy Awards.
